More to come! – Troy McQuillen

I have to move to Aberdeen because my husband took a job there. I am having a hard time finding a 4 bedroom house for rent. Anyonw have any ideas? We are moving to Aberdeen from Rapid City the last week of March. Thanks so much.
HI Carrie…glad you’re moving here. I hope you like it. Please keep me informed about your perceptions. I will make a post on the Facebook version of this (same title as this blog). Feel free to go there and join the group. You can message the populous there by leaving a post. My first bet is Paris Briscoe, a friend of mine who has a lot of property. I’ll email you his number. I also suggest you call Paramount Estates. They have lots of apartments, but only advertise as many as three-bedroom units….no houses. I think Paris could get you started. Oh, another is Joop Bollen…he owns a lot. I’ll send you an email, so watch for it in your junk if it doesn’t make it to you. Best of luck, thanks for contacting me!
We (my family and I) are in the same position as Carrie, except it is me who has accepted a position at the hospital in Aberdeen. I have also not seen much for advertised housing available for rent. Any help would be great, and we would be grateful!!!
Thanks, will be seeing Aberdeen very soon.
p.s. also, information regarding churches and summer activities for 12-year-old boy!
Hi Diane! Glad you’re coming here. Unfortunately our community doesn’t have a centralized clearing house for housing. Actually, due to the competitive nature of real estate and rentals, I don’t know of any community that is able to put it all together in one source. That said, if you’re interested in buying a house, contact Kathy Barber at First Premier Realty… http://firstpremierrealestate.com/ or if you are looking for rentals, I suggest contacting the folks at Paramount Estates. They own several large apartment complexes. http://apartmentsaberdeen.com/ Kathy could also assist with rentals. The best thing to do, to save yourself endless hours of online looking, is to call one of these companies and get them to help you. They are both clients of mine, are very reputable, and have lots to offer. Obviously there are others in town. If you check out http://www.aberdeensd.com, you’ll find a huge housing section with landlords, realtors, etc.
If you get in touch with our Parks and Rec Department (605-626-7015) they can get you information on summer activities. You name it, we got it. http://aberdeen.sd.us/index.aspx?NID=23
As for churches, depends on your brand of choice
. I am a member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church http://www.bethlehemaberdeen.org/ (which is also affiliated with an awesome church camp 70 miles away http://www.losd.org). Most everything else is very well represented here. We even have a Synagogue.
Keep me posted. I’m willing to help you and Carrie make any contacts you need.
